Blog Challenge(23/365) - Museums of LA "The Broad"

Location: 221 S Grand Avenue,Los Angeles, CA 90012 $$: Free The one best thing about Los Angeles, when you are a student or on a very strict budget is; free events and places to visit. This weekend I decided to make the free list, and start utilizing my weekends by visiting them. First on the list, The Broad. Named after Eli Broad, the founder who financed the $140 Million house of contemporary art. What I found interesting apart from the free ticket was the rotation of the art work during special events in the museum, change in seasons, current affairs and celebrating artists. Even though free, the entry line moves real quickly. Plan your parking and travel by checking their wait time twitter feed @TheBroadStandby.

First thing you do when you get in, reserve a spot for the “Infinity mirrored room”. It is one amazing experience, not describing it all for you to see it for yourself. Till your name moves up on the Infinity list, enjoy the other two floors meanwhile. The oversized dinner table, inaugural installations were the best ones I found. But the one stood out the most; Jeff Koon’s “Blue Balloon Dog”, it has 4 other color versions around the world too. But I got to see the blue. Wrapping up my day at broad, I left with an imaginative clue of history I might have witnessed today. The Museum sure looked modern, but you never know one of the artists must have played a clever joke and hid a historic message in their art.
