No longer dividing East and West Germany, the Berlin wall has fallen for 28 years 4 months and 6 days. Referred as Iron curtain, it’s segments were auctioned around the globe since the demolition in 1989. From the Vatican gardens, sanctuary of Portugal, fine arts gallery of Bangladesh, to the men’s room of Main street station casino in Las Vegas and hundreds more. One of the pieces is here, at home. A colossal slice, 25 ton, 40 ft. and segmented in 10 sections, on the long road I reside on, here in Los Angeles. On Wilshire Blvd, 5900 Variety building opposite to the LACMA lights penetrated by designs and murals of the street artists of LA and Berlin, stands this part of the Berlin wall.
